HOME > RECORD KEEPING KEYS, CODES & REMOTES
- The purpose of this document it to provide standard procedures for receiving keys and remotes and keeping a record of those items held in your possession along with any codes.
Notes regarding the keys, codes & remotes inventory:
- You need to have blank white letter size piece of paper and a pen.
- Place the paper in vertical portrait orientation and hand write all the important identifying information on the blank page.
- Use a separate sheet of paper for each set belonging to different rental units.
The first objective is to identify the set of keys as a whole.
- At the top of the paper write all the important information as listed below in section #1.
The second objective is to identify each individual key.
- On the main part of the paper write a label for each type of key that exists in the set, spread the labels out to provide space to place copies of each key next to the labels.
- Some locks may have keys and codes or only codes, known codes should be tested at the property written on the paper next to the label for the key.
Finally take a photo of the paper making sure to capture all the information on paper and the keys in the frame.
